The practice semester in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is a great challenge for student teachers. In addition to the practical school phase, research projects in the form of research-based learning must be completed. University seminars prepare students for these demanding tasks. The concept of the Inverted Classroom (IC) was implemented in order to make the acquisition of research methods more flexible in terms of time and place and to intensify contact between lecturer and students in the seminar. With the aim of publishing the IC video sequences as Open Educational Resources (OER), a pre/post-test-intervention design with a control group was used to evaluate if the format is superior with regard to motivation.
