Requirements for students in dual study programmes: Integration of university and employer criteria in the selection process

Two special features of dual study programmes at universities are the linking of theory and practice and the participation of external cooperation partners. These factors considerably expand the requirement profile for students and increase the risk of conflicts of interest. Using the example of the dual study programmes at the University of Applied Sciences of the Federal Employment Agency, this paper explains different methods of deriving the relevant study and professional requirements and illustrates the possible integration of the requirement profiles in the selection process.
