With regard to the implications of the Bologna-process for University Continuing Education at this stage just limited empirical answers are possible. The aim of a trinational survey in Germany, Austria and Switzerland was to highlight the changing relationship between basic studies and University Continuing Education. The main focus was on consecutive master programs and master programs in contuinung education. Therefore, we analyzed national and European policy papers and conducted a questionnaire based survey. A crucial role played the assessment and and the present experiences of experts in higher education institutions. This article presents and discusses selected outcomes from the Austria survey.
